West coast memories
Visiting west coast always comes up during cold Minnesota winters. Last fall I ended up visiting LA on a business trip, took the opportunity to do some site seeing.
Parts of LA remind me of home, India. Busy streets, hey you even get to hear the horns honking, which you rarely get in the mid west cities like Minnesota.

The Walk Of Fame has over 2,600 stars however I wanted to visit one specific one and that one belongs to one of the most decorated director in Hollywood, Steven Spielberg. He has been nominated 178 times and has won 174 times …. and counting.
Madam Tussauds Wax Museum has over 125 wax figures of famous celebrities – at a cost of approximately $350,000 (USD) each. Right at the entrance you are greeted by Jack Nicholson. There I was chatting it up with Jack !
Marlon Brando was the next celebrity I wanted to see. Now I feel like I am part of the mob … Lol
Sir Anthony Hopkins was next, who can forget “Hello, Clarice” … creepy but engaging at the same time. Not sure if feel safe at all, take a photo quick and let’s go to the next one.
Now I feel safe, now I am rubbing shoulders with the god’s messenger himself. Moses, Charlton Heston. My favorites are The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur. It is just a statue but you can still feel the energy ….. this is going to be great.
Wait a minute from Moses to getting kicked in the teeth by none other than Bruce Lee. Unfortunately he was taken away from us in his prime. Iconic actor that brought martial arts to everyone in the world. His absence is still being felt. Funny yet sad …
How you can not follow that up with the one and only Sylvester Stallone and his unforgettable Rocky Balboa. The eye of the tiger is one of the most popular workout sound track even today.
You can not leave out the gorgeous women of Hollywood, let’s start with the “girl of our dreams” the one and only Marilyn Monroe. Flawless beauty is one way to describe her. Even her wax figure is to fall for.
Who is that pretty women behind me, Julia Roberts iconic role made the film a big hit.
Wait …. before you judge me …. just a wax figure and it is just for fun right Bo Derek. With a club right next to her I could not help myself. Dating in early days on mankind …. Lol
So after traveling back in time, now let’s boldly go where no man has gone before with the crew of the Star ship Enterprise and your captain Ketan Deshpande. I hope that both Captain Kirk’s won’t mind me steeling the chair.
And now back to normal life as a civilian, at the La Jolla beach with cousin
