The Automotive Industry is a highly globalized industry and over the last decade the industry has extensively leveraged developing countries like China and India to remain competitive.
As the Trump administration reviews changes to NAFTA and other economic policies, the industry has already started to update their investment and manufacturing plans. Companies like Ford, GM and FCA have announced jobs coming back to the US.
Ford has backing away from investing $1.6 billion in a new Mexican assembly plant, however continuing their plans to expand transmission and engine factories in Mexico .

The only automaker that assembled all of the cars they sold in the US was Tesla. Other brands such as Jeep, Cadillac and Dodge — broke 80%.

I just bought a car last week! Sold my Cadillac and really went back and forth between a Ford and Chevy! Glad I went the GM route! 🙂
